May Members of the Month – The Couple from Down Under

Simon and Sally

I think the biggest thing we can strive for in relationships, is finding someone that makes us better. Its not always the person that tells you what you want to hear, the easy lies, but the person that will tell you the hard truths.

Simon and Sally epitomize everything I think a relationship should be. They’re two independent and strong people that have come together and formed an amazing bond that they use to support each other. You can always hear them cheering for the other during workouts and you’ll never hear an ill word for the other come out of their mouths (unless you count when they comment on the others’ stubborn streak). And when one is injured or not feeling well but too proud to say anything, the other will step up, even if there’s a stern and angry look from the other. And that latter point is probably my favorite thing about them. They look out for one another, support , encourage and challenge each other. They make each other better, and have made us as a gym better with their presence.

When/How/why did you choose to CrossFit?1380675_376807392449557_1961980859_n

Sally – as a former competitive bodybuilder I need a way to challenge myself physically and mentally, I have never tried Crossfit before and Simon talking me into coming to a class at Amoskeag and i have not looked back since.

Simon – Over the last couple of years I have done Crossfit but never on a regular basis due to not finding the right atmosphere at a box, my motto is “Get fit, make it the best hour of your day, stay safe, turn up the music, high five some people and blow off some steam”……..PLUS a man’s got to have a reason to eat!
